WEEK 4 DAY 4: MISSION

Mission: "Ascertain the world's circumstance."
Time Limit: Long
Noise Plane: Duet
Wall Instructions: No key walls; create walls at your own discretion. Seal off the school and dorm.
Wall Rewards: Poison Scorpion
Reaped Rewards: Final Pyre, All Expired
Mission Rewards: Scarletite

[This is the vaguest mystery ever. But, scan around and one thing will become apparent. Even if the second day was spent entirely clearing noise from the area, they're all back in full force, and they seem to be possessing more people than usual. These people have feelings of hopelessness, apathy and death. But just scanning them doesn't seem to give the answers why. If the mission can believed, this is not something the Reapers have done, but something to do with the world itself. Surely someone must know the truth....]

(Today, Kreutzer staying close to Xion is more than just relying on the girl to keep her from tripping over; she's very much concerned about everything going on around them, whether or not she can feel it.)

Battling Noise seems to do close to nothing, but anything we erase is immediately replaced. There must be something generating it, but what can cause so much negativity to affect an entire town...?

[Xion frowns, reaching out to take Kreutzer's arm. She's sort of seen something like this before. The end of a world. Or rather, the world just before it gets devoured by heartless.

Hastily, she fingers the word 'End?' onto the others arm.

(She considers the word for a moment.)

The end of the world...doomsday. That's entirely plausible. Discomforting, but plausible.

But if this really is the end of the world, then what are we meant to do with it? Prevent it? Survive?

[It's frustrating. She can't use the portals of darkness as a player, however...]

'Maybe it's the worlds fate?'

[She pauses. Hopefully her partner will understand what she means, considering the fact they've been to previous worlds.]

(Fate...it made sense to her, but it only meant the destruction of this world was meant to be inevitable.)

If it is, then we're likely to play a part, whatever that may be. This Game loves getting involved in affairs not its own, if last week is to be an example. My biggest concern is what our roles is meant to be...

'We either help or hinder its destruction.'

I suppose you're right. Ironic, really, that a setting with an inevitable fate becomes a lesson on the inevitability on what we need to do and, more importantly, what needs to be done.

[She squeezes her arm as a makeshift nod. Xion understands this well.]

Yes, with the power of imagination~

Then the real test is accomplishing whatever we have to do without hesitation.

...I can't say it will be easy, but if we've been proceeding as we have thus far, I'd say we can go farther.
