[Darkness. Silence. That's all that hangs over Tatsumi Port. The city is completely blacked out, all signals are dead. No phones work, there's nothing but static on televisions and radios across town.

The sky is overcast, and the people on the Realground have found themselves looking up towards the sky... perhaps the giant tower standing where Gekkoukan High School once was might be an indication of why. Oddly, none on the RG seem to actually see it - at least, none of them notice it, judging by what you might find if you scan.

Speaking of scanning... the area is shockingly noise free. There's no interference, just a calm, unflinching acceptance.

All of the walls are down. Reapers have no orders, players have no mission. It's obvious there's one thing left to do.]

[[OOC Note: There is a Mission Reward, but the mods couldn't bear to let go of their radio silence. Mouse-over the dashes!]]

[The staring lasts for another moment, before Rin finally blinks, a chill runs up her spine, and she just starts yelling nonsense.]

Okay! I made it! Now stop all this crap with the tower and the blackout and ending the world! That's not what the Ryoji I know wanted to do... I'm here... in someone's stead... ♪

[Her voice is shaking again. After all, Minato was Rin's last link to home. And Ryoji and this world are now Rin's last link to Minato. Even if she's known them for a short time, she doesn't want them to disappear... not like this.

And there's more. She doesn't want to disappear either. He said they should go on to the next world.... but their mission... without knowing what it is, she's not sure they can do that. Surely this must give her the answers.]

This cannot happen! ♪

[She may not want them to disappear, but most of Ryoji is long gone now. He certainly wouldn't have wanted to have done this, so the part of him that existed only to please Nyx and do her work on the earth overwhelmed his own consciousness. It makes it easier to bring about terrible things when you don't feel anything, when you can't recognize just how terrible your actions are.]

Once the Fall is set in motion, there is no stopping it. It does not matter what I want. This is what was fated to happen.

...Is it not what you wished for as well? When you spoke to what I once was about the fate of this world, I sensed your desires resonating with those of the people living here. Why do you claim this cannot happen when all along you wished it would?

[It hurts to have that thrown back in her face, especially when it was something that Ryoji shouldn't have known, but apparently this goddess knew. But as vulnerable as it may be, she has plenty to say on that...]

That's not true. That feeling I had was a memory from not too long ago. I'd just lost all of my brothers to a tragedy... Len, Kaito-nii, Yosuke-nii... and I thought that I'd betrayed Len by changing so much, so I should just throw away who I'd become, start over, and wait for him. But I didn't know that it was suicide! And I definitely wouldn't want everyone else to go through it! In the end, my friends all came to my side, and I knew that I was wrong. But I was lost. And though I found love, maybe I was still lost, even when we all escaped together... and even when I died. But I've been doing my best! I don't want to disappear! Even someone like me who was lost can be found... I found myself in this Game. I decided when I come back to life, I'm going to sing about all of us! If you can't understand that, then how can you say what I want? You oversimplify things, don't you!? And what about everyone else? ♪

[Rin suddenly wheezes... she just ranted way too much at once. Besides, when you're telling off a skyscraper-tall goddess, physical nerves have to catch up eventually.]

Even if it was a memory, you still wished for it, at one time. Perhaps you did not know the truth of that wish, but that does not matter. Plenty of others like you have wished for this, and their voices are what lure me to this world.

I have no time to waste waiting for humans to find their way back from darkness. Some may have found their way back to the truth, but most are still hopelessly blind. The world is too broken for you to sing its praises. There is no hope left, and with a loss of hope comes the loss of all things. Give in to the fear in your heart. There is no use resisting.

[roadroller]

No time? What kind of God are you, if you're on some kind of punch clock?! I'm not going to back down, you IDIOT! ♪

[She'll just have to waste that time as best she can, throwing her body into a Velocity Attack]

[apprisingreaper]

[Nyx jerks backwards, clearly injured, but doesn't retaliate, or even respond to Rin. It just keeps staring at her, wondering what she'll pull next.]

[roadroller]

[If he's not retaliating, then she'll slam into him a few more times, and then double back as the pin runs out of charge. Then she'll try to focus Cornered Rat on him, but it doesn't seem to work... a resistance to light, apparently.]

What the? ♪

[Rin is fortunate enough that the damage done is enough to get Nyx to react.]

The moment man devoured the fruit of knowledge, he sealed his fate... Entrusting his future to the cards, man clings to a dim hope. Yet, the Arcana is the means by which all is revealed. Only courage in the face of doubt can lead one to the answer.

[As soon as it finishes speaking, it summons a lighting spell, sending electricity arcing towards Rin.]

[She spent all of her pin whaling on him, so she's definitely not fast enough to dodge lightning this time. It hits her squarely.]

Guh!

[Honestly, she expected to die right then. After all, being hit by lightning!? That'd be fatal for a human or a Vocaloid, she thinks. But she's still standing. A Player's existence is something different, that's for sure. She opens her eyes through the burning pain coursing through her body... courage in the face of doubt, huh?]

All right... then let me just try to find it! ♪

[Her only attacking pin that works has recharged. On a whim of an idea, she pulls out her knife and speeds again toward the spectral creature, hoping that the addition of the weapon to her momentum will allow her to deal extra damage. She thrusts it in as the pin sends her to impact.]

[Well, that certainly was courageous of her. That attack is enough to seriously injure the monster, but at the same time, it also puts her right in its path for another spell. It brings its sword down, sending flames out towards Rin. Hopefully she has enough energy to dodge that.]

[roadroller]

[She has enough momentum built up to dodge this time - and she's just going to try to get behind the Avatar, if nothing's stopping her. It'd be a lot easier to fight if she can't see her, she thinks!]

[apprisingreaper]

[Luckily enough, she does manage to get behind it, and Nyx pauses in casting another spell. Rin had better hurry if she wants to do anything, because it will start looking for her if she doesn't appear again.]
