[Darkness. Silence. That's all that hangs over Tatsumi Port. The city is completely blacked out, all signals are dead. No phones work, there's nothing but static on televisions and radios across town.

The sky is overcast, and the people on the Realground have found themselves looking up towards the sky... perhaps the giant tower standing where Gekkoukan High School once was might be an indication of why. Oddly, none on the RG seem to actually see it - at least, none of them notice it, judging by what you might find if you scan.

Speaking of scanning... the area is shockingly noise free. There's no interference, just a calm, unflinching acceptance.

All of the walls are down. Reapers have no orders, players have no mission. It's obvious there's one thing left to do.]

[[OOC Note: There is a Mission Reward, but the mods couldn't bear to let go of their radio silence. Mouse-over the dashes!]]

Death Arcana/Aftermath

[And so it's come to this. Many have stood against Nyx despite the danger, despite the fact that this world most likely will end. Whoever was brave enough to take on this battle would have had to fight for what seemed like an eternity. Perhaps sometimes, they needed to fall back, let others deal with the monster, and perhaps they wondered if this was ever really going to end.

Those still fighting now, however, will see a faint glimmer of hope. Nyx sounds less apathetic now, almost angry as it changes forms again, and what it says afterwards is another sign of finality.]

The moment man devoured the fruit of knowledge, he sealed his fate... Entrusting his future to the cards, man clings to a dim hope. Yet, the Arcana is the means by which all is revealed. Beyond the beaten path lies the absolute end. It matters not who you are... Death awaits you.

[It's come full circle now, but is anyone ready to bring down Death itself?]

[Well, Nyx would have reminded Zecora that Death awaits all living things, and thus, this applies to zebras as well, but that hurt. It takes a moment to recover, and then sends a wind spell out to retaliate.]

[She's very aware... being dead and all. It hasn't done a thing for anypony and it certainly isn't the sort of existence Nyx promises. Whatever the case, though, he has no right to decide for her! Her species is not culpable!]

[The wind sends her sliding backwards to slam into a raised stairwell cover with a grunt of pain.]

[Nyx has time with that for another attack, swinging its sword in a long arc. When the blade hits the ground, lines of fire spread out along the ground, heading towards the stairwell where Zecora is recovering.]

[This would be a GREAT time for some help. Zecora flicks on Creepy Weepy Barrier to absorb the hit of the flames and bask her in restorative energy as she gets to her feet.]

[It's a shame that no one else seems to have the energy to assist her. Thankfully, Nyx does hold off for a moment, if only because it's impressed by the zebra's shield.]

[zebrarhyme_everytime]

[She's pretty fond of it herself, thanks.]

[Zecora advances on Nyx quickly, apparently intending to charge it down and use the barrier's damaging property against it -- but the barrier flicks off just as she draws within range. But that's okay -- it was a feint, as Zecora activates Velocity Attack to crash into Nyx at speed.]

[Nyx takes the hit, but backs off enough to cast some fire magic. Despite all the attacks Zecora is throwing at it, it still won't back down.]

[Rin had to pull back for a while, as Peace Full ran out of charges, but after a long rest, it seems to have come back, and as the flames settle she rejoins the battle and immediately heals Zecora. It's obvious that she's got more skills than her; if they don't do this together, the outcome will be the same as the last time Rin tried to fight Nyx. She's a tenacious one though.]

You all right?! ♪

I could be worse -- I can still speak my verse!

[Zecora rips the door off the stairwell entrance with Sexy D, then sends heavy steel missile hurtling at Nyx.]

[apprisingreaper]

[These two together could pose a problem to Nyx, and it speaks again, a little angry for once.]

You cannot avoid death. To live is to die; they are one in the same... It's useless.

[And it raises its sword, but not to attack this time. Instead, its black wings surround it and suddenly, a strange glow appears around it, looking a bit like some sort of shield.]

[roadroller]

Well it's good to hear it! ♪

[She replies to Zecora, then ignoring what he said, Rin runs up to the monster with her dagger, stopping short just as the shield goes up and surprises her. It looks too strong for her rather flimsy weapon, so she jumps back]

Aah, that looks tough! We may have to smash it together! ♪

[There's something that feels wrong about the shield, but Rin doesn't have a response to such an obstacle other than trying to break it - especially since she had ignored the hint in Nyx Avatar's words. She's got Velocity Attack on standby but she's waiting for Zecora's help.]

Death is fine when it's all in good time
But lying down to accept that early is a crime!

[Zecora nods and focuses Eyes on the shield, pumping energy through the psyche into it.]

[Those attacks weren't a good idea. The shield can't be broken through, and in fact, it actually reflects damage back onto Zecora and Rin. They're lucky the attacks weren't severe enough to kill them, but as Nyx is now preparing another Almighty attack, that may be enough to break them down if they aren't quick enough.]

[Luckily quickness is on Rin's side, as her deck is practically themed around it. Handsfree Healing fixes her up as she uses the rest of her pin's velocity to dodge. It still stung being hit with her own attack, though; physically and to her pride. And now she only has 3 more Peace Fulls.]

[Fortunately, Zecora keeps a Croc Leisure in her deck as well, and Creepy Weepy Barrier has kept it mostly untouched thus far. She quickly lets its healing wash through her as she braces herself to endure this next attack.]

[Thankfully, with a flap of its wings, the shield is lifted, but it's still got plenty of power left, as it casts an ice spell that could freeze the two of them, or at least damage them with sharp ice shards, if they aren't careful.]

[zebrarhyme_everytime]

[Damage, no kidding. Red slashes now add to the tattoos that emulate Zecora's stripes as she drops to a knee, muscles taut beneath her skin. She grits her teeth, burns off another charge from Croc Leisure, then telekinetically grips the door she'd been flinging around to fling it at him again.]

[Rin's been cut as well, but she doesn't want to miss her chance now that the shield is down. Unfortunately, her foot seems to have been frozen to the ground, and she falls flat on her face as soon as she tries to dash]

Guh! Owwww!

[she blinks back the slightest tears that have started forming because of the pain and cold, and starts to focus cornered rat on the ice around her foot. At least it starts to melt pretty quickly.]

K-Keep going!

[She'll charge in with another velocity attack as soon as she's free]

(This fight was definitely an endurance match. Nyx kept the fight going on for such a long time that almost everyone involved in the fight was getting worn out. Things would only get worse if they fell now...

But Django can't accept that. They can't stop after coming this far. After just getting scratched up from the ice attack, the solar boy fires several shots from his Solar gun at the creature.)
