Noise Plane: Solo
Wall Instructions: None. Keep harrying.
Wall Rewards: ( If anyone puts one up anyway: Hot Dog )
Reaped Rewards: Murasame
Mission Rewards: Earthshake

[Anyone who saw the Noise Sigils from Tocho's Observation Decks the day before will know exactly what this mission is talking about. Those who didn't may not realize that there is more than one. That plural form's sneaky.

But either way, there's a Mammoth Boss in the middle of Shinjuku Gyoen, and a Fox Boss in front of the Mode Gakuen Cocoon Tower. They are very tough and cannot be defeated alone. Apparently the GM really has it out for the Players today - and anyone who steps to the plate may feel as though they're being watched.]

[Rhyme, having seen the sigils yesterday, is already heading off in the direction she hoped would get her to the proper spot. There was something missing, though. There was a distinct lack of green again today. She hadn't found him yesterday, but it had been clear he'd known what he was doing, and today it was her turn. She'd do it for the both of them, she swore it.

So that's why she was running towards the Tower, alone yet determined.]

Still without a partner, I see.

[have a Reaper, Rhyme. One who's still in trouble with the higher ups. But he sounds more... concerned than he probably should]

Why are you two running around separately?

I'm making something up to him.

[Firm, and on her guard.]

[tamedhollow]

[he frowns] Partners should stick together. It's dangerous. [he goes for a Noise pin in his pocket, but stops. He can't bring himself to set Noise on her. She's too young.] ... You remind me of my sisters, Rhyme. Their names are Yuzu and Karin, and they've gotta be wondering where I am, by now... If you promise me you'll go find Grovyle before trying to take on these bosses, I'll let you go.

[Please. Don't make me hurt you.]

...I can't. I...I have to make it up to him. And I can fight. [She pulls out her pins, getting ready.]

[tamedhollow]

Those boss noise are tough. Way too tough for you to fight alone. For anyone to fight alone! [Oh Rhyme don't do this to him]

[carsharkkonishi]

...I'll find him. [Spoken in defeat.]

But this isn't over.

[tamedhollow]

[Ichigo lets out a breath he didn't know he was holding]

Good. Thanks.

Yeah. [She sounds only a bit bitter as she walks away.]

[tamedhollow]

[bitter or not, she'll be safe. For now. And that's what mattered]

[He had wanted to catch up with her yesterday. On the other hand, he got caught up for quite some time in Ichigo's noise-box trap, to say nothing of other reapers stepping up their game. It was a busy day, and he was lucky to survive. Maybe it wasn't luck, but modesty was one thing Grovyle kept nearby.

By the time the mission had been cleared, she was nowhere to be found, the two of them constantly missing each other.

Thus, it's only when she nears the tower that she will see him, leaning against a nearby wall.]

...sorry about yesterday. Today... we can't pull those antics. Gotta work together or else we won't have a snorunt's chance in a volcano.

[She runs up to him, smiling a bit.]

I'm glad you're okay...I was hoping to make this mission easy for you like you did for me yesterday...guess that can't work now.

I had some stuff to look into, that's all. And I just did my part yesterday; if it was easy, that's because you knew what needed to be done.

But the missions are getting harder and the reapers are getting more aggressive. The way to make this easier on both of us is if we stick together from here on out.

[He sounds slightly different than Rhyme may recall - a bit more... determined, maybe?]

[She'll note that, along with her nagging thought from yesterday--what if he doesn't care about her anymore? Why'd he talk to that Reaper? But, she tries to show none of that with a firm nod.]

Yeah, but still, I wanna do the same amount as you. I feel bad when you do all the fighting and stuff. It feels like I'm no help at all.

[juuichi_yosamu]

[Grovyle reaches up and rubs the bridge of his... muzzle?... in exasperation.]

Without you, I'm powerless right now. I can defeat Noise, certainly, but that won't win the game alone. You know of this world, and its customs; I certainly would have had a much easier time yesterday if I had stayed with you.

[And that causes him to sigh.]

But I couldn't.

You're smart enough to figure it out though. I mean, you talked to that Reaper yesterday, she told me. You'd find everything out without me, too. But yeah, yesterday would have been better if it wasn't so hectic.

...what exactly did she tell you? [That conniving wench...]

[No. Calm. Don't give the girl the wrong idea; she needs a reason to keep going, you need to be that reason... for now.]

Tell me. Do you think that a flower can grow without getting sunlight?

She was wondering why you wanted to see her and not me. That maybe I was useless...

[She doesn't sound as happy as she normally does, sad, even.]

No. Without the sun it can't, just like it can't without water.

[Okay, he can salvage this. One hand lifts, and holds up two fingers.]

Two things. One, she's a reaper. Don't you think it's her job to make us doubt each other? We're... not gonna get through this if we don't trust one another. Just because she didn't throw noise at you doesn't mean she wasn't trying to hurt you.

[A bit of a sigh. That manipulative little... She KNEW the reason he was alone. He didn't have a life to go back to, after this. At least as a Reaper, he could work to make this game less of a broken mess, help those who were truly deserving to come back to life.]

Two... just because the flower seems to be getting along fine on its own, as soon as you take the sun and the water away, it starts to wilt.

[Whether Rhyme realizes it or not, she's had a close eye watching her all this week. Always from a distance, but... well, Rhyme is from his city. Joshua isn't about to let another district take what belongs in his own.

But as he sees her running alone towards the Noise symbols that will take at least two skilled Players to defeat... he has to step in. Right in her path, in fact, but far enough away that she won't run into him.]

Going somewhere?

I really don't have time right now.

[She sounds a little exasperated as she stops,but isn't trying to be rude.]

Oh, I'm aware. But continue on alone like this, and you won't have any time left at all.

[Sorry, Rhyme, but you aren't getting past him without your partner with you~]

But what if my partner is already there? I'm sorry, but I need to go through. What are your conditions?

[She looks determined to get through this somehow.]

I've been watching. I'm fairly sure I haven't seen anything small and green run through here yet.

My only condition is that you go through with someone else.
