WEEK 2 DAY 3: MISSION

Mission: "Come into the arms of The Protector."
Time limit: Short
Noise Plane: Solo
Wall Instructions: Key walls around St. Peter and Paul Church.
Wall Rewards: Guardian Angel
Reaped Rewards: Impact Warning
Mission Rewards: 100 leu

[Seems like it's a mission about finding someone or something, and once it's identified, it should be fairly easy.

Of course, the Reapers have been reminded not to make this easy on the Players, so it might be once again time to rely on the unknowing citizens of the RG. ... Many of whom look to be a bit green around the gills. Hmm.]

[Ichigo watches, like he usually does. He doesn't have a choice, right now, because he'll have to drop the wall.

The wolves were easy enough, but then... the guy seems to be having trouble.

Did he not have any long-range pins? At all?! He watches for a moment, hoping that maybe he was just mixing it up a little. Bluffing.

But several quill explosions later, Ichigo becomes well aware that he's not.]

... Shit.

[it'd be one thing if it was going to be quick. But death by exploding quills would take... a while. He tries not to. He shouldn't.

But deep down, he has to.

With another curse, Ichigo vanishes into a burst of static, reappearing outside the wall. But only for the briefest of moments. It all happens fast, faster than human eyes can really track. He lashes out with his tail at the corehog, knocking it into the confines of the barrier. Then he vanishes again and does the same thing to the Noise on the other side. Then, just as quickly as he'd come to Sasuke's aid, he's back up on his rooftop like nothing happened]

[shinbunshinobi]

[Sasuke cringes as another set of explosions go off as Blink Step needs to recharge. Another healing pin... damn it! Why do so many pins not work for him? He tries another Go 2 Hell, hoping to break through the wall or something. He may be starting to panic now. No... he can't be Erased.]

[It's like a miracle when the damn Corehogs move into the wall.]

Finally!

[He says with more emotion than he planned to. Sasuke erases them quickly before he's stuck in the same slow and painful cycle and then tries to catch his breath.]

You know... we really need to stop meeting like this...

We do. But a job's a job. [Ichigo smiles a bit to himself. Thank goodness... So of course the next logical step is to yell at poor Sasuke]

But you didn't tell me you didn't have any long range psychs, you idiot! [Ichigo dismisses the wall and then uses the heel of his palm to smack Sasuke on the head. Hands off players? Well yeah. But that was a friendly smack]

Here. [he hands Sasuke the Impact Warning pin] This is a ranged psych. Oh... [he pulls out a Lolita Bat as well] I have this left over from yesterday, if you didn't get one.

I'm sorry. But you never gave me a chance to when you put me in a box full of Noise.

[He's not going to dignify that smack on the head with a response.]

And it's not like I don't have any. They just don't work for me.

[At all. He can't get them to activate. Still, Sasuke pockets the pin he's given (and snatches the Lolita Bat too) in hopes that one may activate for him.]

They don't work? At all? [he scratches his head] Maybe if you... practiced? I don't know. Maybe go talk to Neku after the day is over. He's the psych master, or so I hear. I don't use pins except for summoning Noise and stuff.

[shinbunshinobi]

I keep trying everyday, but they don't do a thing except in Tin Pin.

[Now his partner, on the other hand, can use practically every one of them, if not, all of them.]

Tin Pin? Ah! Next time I run into you, we're playing Tin Pin. That counts as a way to get points. [he hopes] ... Either way, find Neku. He's a Reaper kid with blue clothes and spiky orange hair. Even more spiky than mine.

[shinbunshinobi]

I think I know the guy. We've crossed paths a few times, and he taught me Tin Pin.

[tamedhollow]

That's probably him, then.

[shinbunshinobi]

I'll see about asking him, and hey, if you want to play Tin Pin, I'll take that over that box anytime.

[tamedhollow]

The box earns me lots of points. I need points to move up to Officer... And I need to be an Officer to better know what's going on here. So the box isn't totally out. It just won't be the next time.

[shinbunshinobi]

Officer, huh? I guess I should have pegged you as the motivated type.

[tamedhollow]

It's not because I want to be. But they keep us in the dark down here. As much as you Players, almost. I need to find out what's going on... why they're bringing in people from different worlds. And how to get us home. I have to get higher up to do that. I guess that's a kind of motivation, too, though.

[shinbunshinobi]

[You know what? You're not half bad.]

If that's your goal... maybe I'll let you do the box thing on me when I get a long range pin working. I keep getting new pins out of it that'll help me when the bosses shows their ugly faces... and you get your points.

[Eventually, they get home alive and well or something. Hopefully.]

Yeah. That's all I want. That's all I've wanted since I woke up in Shinjuku. I just know I have to work the system to make it work. [he grins] Thanks, Sasuke. Just let me know, alright? We'll make it look real convincing.

I played their game their way the first week and got nothing but a free trip to wherever this is. I'm willing to play by a different set of rules now.

[tamedhollow]

[Ichigo nods] Exactly. They aren't gonna give us answers, we'll have to take them by force. Now hurry up. You're on the right path. Don't forget to scan the RGers for ideas.

[He goes off to figure out what's going on for this mission. It's a short time frame after all.]
