WEEK 2 DAY 6: MISSION

Mission: "Mend the severed."
Time Limit: Very Long
Noise Plane: Solo
Wall Instructions: Key walls around the residential districts.
Wall Rewards: Psych Support
Reaped Rewards: Link Spider
Mission Rewards: 5,000 leu



[Things appear to have settled down from the previous days. No more gallivanting ex-GMs, no more strange displays of brainwashing or secret tunnels. Everything is, supposedly, back to order. And yet, judging by the mission, not all is right. Whatever it is, it's up to the Players to fix it. Why not look around and see what this severed thing is? The answer may not be too surprising, to those paying attention.]

If you still want to hit me, you can. I can take it, and I probably deserve it. [he shrugs.] The headbutting thing is just something my dad does to me when I get too caught up in emotional crap. I thought I might give it a try. [he gives a quiet laugh] But ah... my head is harder than I thought. So yeah. I didn't mean to rattle your brain so much.

Unfortunately, the desire to do so seems to have been dampened. [The surprise of peace offering gifts just... sort of knocked that right out of the picture. He should have ambushed when he had the chance.] Maybe you should consider your opponent before doing something like that.

The stuff about Shibuya, right? Seems like that particular game made some pretty far-reaching waves. [there's a question hidden in there, Josh]

From what he told me, the entire upper-levels of this Game are from Shinjuku. This is Shinjuku's Game, transported to... wherever we are. Siberia? Which also never happened before the "newbloods" started showing up. [he's still not clear on it, ALL HE KNOWS IS THAT IT'S COLD. Ichigo nods a bit] ... if I knew more about what happened, I might be able to put some more information together.

I thought as much. Though really, it only happened a week after we all showed up. If they had just sent us home before then, perhaps nothing like this would have happened in the first place. Which is why I'm suspicious; it's strange that we were forced into being involved in the Game in the first place. [Pause. He's taking a sip of that coffee now. ... not bad.] Shibuya was stagnating and threatening to poison the nearby districts. The Composer there was prepared to destroy it... but, all thanks to one Sakuraba Neku, he seems to have changed his mind. The city is still there, after all. And it's doing much better.

It's all weird. And I won't be surprised if we end up somewhere new after this week ends. [he looks surprised] Destroy... the whole district? What would happen to the people who lived there, then? ... [Poisoning neighboring districts...] Wait, Shinjuku is right next to Shibuya. So if something went bad in Shibuya, who's to say that it didn't spread to Shinjuku already? What if that's what this is?

I wouldn't be, either. Though I'd like to know if there's any control over where we go or not. [Siiiiip.] On the outside, it would simply look like a terrible accident. I'm sure you've seen it happen before - entire cities being destroyed in one way or another. I assume the people there would either Ascend or Descend, depending on their worth at the time. [... and the poisoning theory...] I doubt that's what this is. It would have caused discord and chaos in the city, not... [hand motion] all of this.

I don't know... Rei didn't know, either. He seemed to be only slightly more informed than we are. [that sounds horrible...] I've heard of such things happening, but I didn't realize... [he shakes his head] ... I'm glad Neku was able to change that. [Ichigo frowns, thinking hard] Well, it could have been a red herring. Maybe Rei was lying, to throw us off. Maybe this doesn't have anything to do with Shibuya at all.

I wouldn't mind meeting this Reaper and talking to him myself, honestly. [He smiles.] Neku had far more of a hand in it than I think he realizes. He might learn one of these days. [And, thoughtfully, his fingertips tap against the side of the thermos.] ... at this point, anything is a valid possibility. All we can do is gather as much information as we can and weed out the improbable bits.

You'll know him as soon as you see him. Smarmy, and wrapped up in bandages like some kind of mummy. [he rolls his eyes. Maybe the kid was taking Halloween too far] He had a friend with him, but she ran off before we could talk to her. It sounded like they were partners.

He's a good guy. He saved a lot of people. [he frowns] The more information I get, the more confusing this gets. A Composer isn't supposed to be able to move their game around, right?

That he did. [He takes another sip of coffee while Ichigo speaks.] Not at all. What's even more confusing is that moving the Game into this city didn't have any negative effects that I've been able to notice. I'm sure that you've noticed by now that Reapers are by nature creatures of opportunity... Reapers from opposing districts aren't usually well-accepted by Reapers in their home districts. In fact, it's downright animalistic, from what I've heard. And each city has its own Game... so why weren't there Romanian Reapers here to fight back at us for intruding?

[Well. The other day was an embarrassing lapse in common sense. Some time to himself for good old fashioned stress relief is just what he needs. What does "stress relief" entail...? Hard to say.

At face value it seems to be feeding the local birds from the comfort of a bench. How cute, almost like an old lady.

He's paying very keen attention to them, though.]

Perhaps you should be assigned as a sleeper!

[It might be easy to mistake the cheer in Zecora's voice for taunting, particularly as her expression is hidden beneath her cloak save for the glow of bright yellow eyes. It isn't, though; she's just making a joke.]
