WEEK 3 DAY 1: MISSION
Mission: "Rest under the tannenbaum!"
Time Limit: Short
Noise Plane: Solo
Wall Instructions: Key wall in front of the main gate. Condition is a pact.
Wall Rewards: Long Live The Ice
Reaped Rewards: Cold Stare
Mission Rewards: 10,000 zeny
[After a long trek through the snowy field, a row of fancy heat lamps and a stone gate finally come into view. Through it, the town of Lutie is visible, and looking quite welcoming with its Christmas greetings everywhere. Compared to the frozen tundra, you'll want to hurry inside - just try not to let the wall hit you on the way in! And once the gate is passed, the first thing you'll see is a massive Christmas Tree.... ]

She's not in the mood for harrying (or dressing warmly, apparently), so she puts up a wall in front of the gate and waits for players who'll fulfill the requirements.)

Someone looks down in the dumps.
[He is far, far too happy about that.]
no subject
And if I am?
no subject
Then I'm in a pretty good mood, I think.
no subject
(She shrugs.)
Well if that's all, then perhaps you should return to attempting to be useful.
no subject
I've been unable to find anyone to harry. It's getting vexing.
[He's looking dismissively at the wall.]
As though this is so useful...this game gets boring at times.
[He did wall duty once. Never again.]

From here, I can look over much of the area. It's quite the location for surveillance.
(She shrugs again.)
But it's not my fault if you can't can't keep yourself entertained. It's not as if you don't have options.

[Judging by the shift in his body language and look in his eyes, that was a threat. Behavior like this is probably why he doesn't have any friends.]

It wouldn't be right to say she was on her best behavior; that would imply she was actually trying. Unlike before when she chose not to, here she literally can't. Still, she's doing the job regardless.)
...You'll freeze if you stay out here with me.
(At least her concern is genuine.)

[Yeah, he knows what went on between Kreutzer and the Flutters, even if he wasn't there for the incident. The two of them were pretty obvious in trying to figure out how to keep that puppy safe and sheltered, on Day 6, and the upswing in Kreutzer's mood on Day 7 was pretty obvious.]
no subject
That actually makes it a bit easier to talk about.)
Barely knowing the puppy is partially why it hurts; I didn't get the chance to know it very well. I was prepared to, but I got my hopes too high up. It stood as much of a chance as I did.
I'm just hoping the cold will numb my emotions.
no subject
[It's a weird way of saying "the puppy will be fine, it's strong", but...]
It'll numb your fingers first. I'd rather you not collapse from frostbite.
no subject
Perhaps. So young and full of vigor, it was...I can only hope I didn't send it to its death.
(Because the last time she did this to anyone else was Rosa and that was 112 different levels of complicated.)
I should've brought gloves, then. Perhaps I'll buy some once the players fulfill the requirement.
(Meaning she's being self-destructive again. At least there aren't any explosions to go with it.)

...Just give him several seconds to recover from the fall, and recover some of his dignity as well.]

What that little stunt does, however, is draw her attention away from her sadness. Not enough to make her laugh, but it's a step up.)
...Congratulations; you found the wall.
(And a little sarcasm. That's a plus.)

After Kreutz says that though, Leon lifts his head to look up at her. Wow, women (besides Foster and the pin trader) do exist! Leon outright forces a grin on his face; gotta try and get the charm on--!]
Heh; guess I did! Got any conditions for bringing it down? [He'll wait for an answer while brushing a bit more snow off of himself. Gotta look halfway decent--!]
no subject
Have a flat response.)
Form a pact with another player. That's all.
no subject
...I'll be back in a few.
[Yep, don't mind him--he just needs to run off and see if he can find some
unluckylucky person to form a pact with.]no subject
What must we do to make this fall?
[Don't mind Zecora's mild bitterness. Week 3 has begun with her still playing, after all.]
no subject
Simply form a pact with another player. This week has an easy start.
no subject
I've had one for two weeks. I'll have it for more.
no subject
(Kreutzer lowers the wall.)
Do you know where to go from here?
no subject
That we should seek the Hearth's Warming tree.
no subject
(Kreutzer hands over two pins, both for Long Live The Ice.)
For your partner as well.
