[After a long trek through the snowy field, a row of fancy heat lamps and a stone gate finally come into view. Through it, the town of Lutie is visible, and looking quite welcoming with its Christmas greetings everywhere. Compared to the frozen tundra, you'll want to hurry inside - just try not to let the wall hit you on the way in! And once the gate is passed, the first thing you'll see is a massive Christmas Tree.... ]

What? Are these not enough? I may have to then.

I'd say, at least, they don't have the weight
Of metal hammered into a circular state.

[Well, that kind of grim mood didn't last long. Zecora is, once again, grateful to her partner.]

You seem well versed in the different creatures of your world. Why don't you tell me about a few while we follow these wall? You know, to pass the time.

The Everfree Forest has many creatures
With strange techniques or curious features.
A basilisk's gaze turns you to stone
Not a fate you'd wish to face alone.
A hydra has four heads at least
Treetop high, it's a fierce beast.
A phoenix incinerates itself
And, reborn, regains its health.
Of dragons, must I really speak?
You told me you know of them, last week.

I've heard of each of them, with basically the same abilities as well... only they're supposed to be fictional or legendary beings. Huh. At this rate, I really shouldn't be surprised.

What about a Parasprite?
A little puffball of a mite
That devours everything it can
In swarms of hundreds across the land?

We've got something called a locus that can do that but nothing called a parasprite. What about cats, dogs, birds, rabbits, and monkeys?

[You know, common animals in his world. Classmate has a pet monkey, hence its inclusion]

Common pets for ponykind,
And don't leave turtles or owls behind.

[They have pets. He really shouldn't be surprised.]

We share that in common too. If you have owls, you probably have crows as well.

Crows and ravens, and the occasional rook
Though I've only seen the latter in a book.

I have a crow back home. I hope someone's remembering to feed him, but he's a smart bird. He could probably make it on his own if he needed to.

Crows are intelligent birds--
But not known to heed others' words.
How did you happen to get
A common corvid as your pet?

I found him injured and starving. Brought him home, nursed him back to health, and then some. He decided to stick around after that.

[It also helps that Sasuke tends to spoil the bird.]

And were others surprised to find
That, in that case, you were so kind?

[Zecora outright grins at her little joke. SHE has no doubts of Sasuke's true nature, after all, but she guesses he had more of a tough-guy front with his teammates.]

Hey, now. There's no need for that.

[Actually, most know his true nature, much to his chagrin.]

[Zecora laughs, and bumps against him slightly as they walk, pleased that she's managed to tease him.]

[But the comparison between the two of them, human and zebra, gets her thinking.]

I wonder if we'll see a town
With stranger-still people around.

Maybe I'll be the odd one out, and you'll have to do all the talking for me.

[He kinda hopes that will be the case. He'd like a break with the diplomacy.]

[It isn't for lack of effort on Zecora's part!]

Not two or four legs, but instead
Perhaps they'll all be octapeds.

[Why do you think he lets he take the lead when it comes to Reapers and such? He deals with the RGers; she can handle the others.]

Then we'll both be in trouble.
