WEEK 3 DAY 3: MISSION

Mission: Spread holiday cheer to the town!
Time Limit: Long
Noise Plane: Solo
Wall Instructions: Neku, the Flutters, and Kreutzer are explicitly assigned to wall duty, other reapers may man key walls around town as desired. Wall-clearing requirements must involve cheering the reaper in question up somehow.
Wall Rewards: Whirlygig Juggle
Reaped Rewards: Aqua Ghost
Mission Rewards: Adamantite
Bonus Reward: Love Me Tether

[It seems this week's GM is pretty easy-going, as this is another simple mission... it seems that spirits are still somewhat down amidst the RG, to say nothing of the Reapers. Obviously, one or more of them need to be happy to clear the mission. But which ones?

Strangely, all phones will get a second mail a few minutes after the first, though it's a little different than the mission mail... it actually seems to be in a somewhat stylized script, and reads quite differently.]

While those in this Game are carrying out your mission, there is one grinch who seems to be quite intent on befouling the name of this town and perhaps all of Christmas! Perhaps if you could find it in your heart to spread a little Christmas cheer to that snakey soul, Santa might have an extra present for you!

[This... doesn't seem to be part of the mission, but is it a prank? Santa does live in town...]

[[OOC note: Just like W2D7, you get a secondary mission! It's not gonna be easy, though, and the Reaper in question definitely did NOT agree to such a thing...]]

[...and that sure is a Drake Noise Asakura's calling out.]

[He really likes the really big Noise, doesn't he? All right, first thing to do is get some distance from it, so he has more room to move and dodge.]

[If it looks like it can cause the most damage, then that's just the sort of Noise Asakura prefers. Bigger's always better, right?

As much as it vexes him to do so, he steps back and gets out of the dragon's way. It's snapping in Sasuke's direction now and hasn't done much more than that.]

[And Sasuke now has some long distance attacking pins now, so fighting the big ugly is easier for him than last time. He only gets in close when he needs to wait for the pin to charge and uses another pin then. Being his third week and having faced a few of these, Sasuke clearly has the attack patterns learned by now.]

[So sorry.]

[And Asakura, whose battle strategies usually just boil down to "Hit the other guy harder than he's hitting you," just wishes he could get one of his Mirror Monsters out to play because clearly they're more competent monster lackeys. The Drake Noise is defeated, much to his surprise.]

How vexing...

[He'll pull out another Noise pin. The Mammoth is the biggest and must therefore be the best, right?]

Another big Noise... My my, aren't we over-compensating for something?

[Cocky? Yes, but he doesn't show any sign of stopping. This battle isn't quite as smooth because Sasuke hasn't fought as many of the Mammoths, but he's not having trouble. Asakura might have to pick on another Player who hasn't been here a few weeks.]

[Or do something really crazy like summon ten Drakes or Mammoths, but could multiples of the large Noise even fit in this area?]

[Good job making him even angrier than before, Sasuke. He mad.]

These monsters are useless...

[He's summoned three more Drakes. The area's getting crowded, that's for sure.]

[Sasuke's kind of a jerk like that.]

You really need to lighten up some. That kind of attitude is only going to give you wrinkles.

[He's on fully defensive mode now. His Blink Step is getting a full work out as dodges the attacks and he figures out how to respond to this. Beyond taunting the Reaper.]

You think I care about stuff like that?!

[Asakura just watches and looks a little twitchy as the Drakes seem to be holding their own this time. He wants to get personally involved so badly. Stupid rule saying he can't attack Players directly...]

Do you have a hobby besides being eternally angry?

[He's seriously worse than Mitsunari, and that takes some doing. Sasuke begins to concentrate attack on a single Drake to lower their numbers. Some of the Drake's attacks do connect when he uses Blink Step only to be where another attack is.]

Sometimes I like to set things on fire. Brings back memories of my childhood.

[He's continuing to watch the battle, amused as those Drakes land a few hits. Maybe that's the trick to using these monsters--summon way too many of them.]

[Slowly, one of the Drakes fall. Two become much easier to handle in terms of dodging.]

You really should take up another, less destructive hobby. I could see you taking up knitting.

[Not really. He'd probably sooner stab someone with the needles than make a scarf.]

[And in the unlikely event he actually finished knitting a scarf, he'd just use it to strangle people.]

Perhaps you should take up something quiet. Like getting erased.

[That was not exactly the greatest comeback ever but he's quite irritated that one of the Drakes didn't make it. These monsters are useless.]

Oh, I can be very quiet if I feel like it, but where's the fun in that?

[He targets one Drake again for the bulk of his attack, clearly lessening the numbers to make the fight easier to handle.]

You'd certainly be less vexing if you were...

[He is scowling as Sasuke's strategy appears to be paying off. If ridiculously large amounts of large Noise don't do anything, then what good are they?]

What a coincidence, so would you. I think... a thesaurus would also help.

[Sasuke's feeling much better about this fight, back in control. If he knew the Reaper's thought, he might have a few suggestions, but far be it that he would willingly tell him of them.]

You wouldn't be so cocky if I were allowed to get in there and fight myself. These creatures are useless...

[Asakura's losing his composure. Why are these monsters so incompetent? And why can't he just take care of things directly? He's practically quivering with barely-contained rage.]

[It's getting more and more tempting to see if the rock Santa gave him will do anything against a Reaper, but that would require him stopping and getting the rock out in the first place. A waste of time.]

But you can't, and with every Noise I defeat, I become stronger. I should thank you for that.

[Well, at least that statement stopped Asakura from bringing out any more Noise. He'd been just about to add a few more to the fray.]

Enjoy it while you can. Sooner or later, I'll get to attack you directly.

[He hopes because aaaaaarrrrgh so vexed. He emphasizes his point by punching a nearby wall.]

[What a relief because even Sasuke can't keep fighting Noise the whole day, especially a ton a big guys like this.]

You'll have to catch me first.

[And eventually he's able to finish off the last Drake.]

So, didn't we bet that you have to wear a Santa hat and be nice for the rest of the day if I win?

Well, that's part of the challenge, isn't it? And finding a hat can't be too difficult.

Unless you're telling me that someone as powerful as yourself can't handle either?

But he likes purple better!

[He is glaring. So much glaring. ALL THE GLARING. And that jab at his power is only making things worse.]

Finding a hat was never part of this.

[This is, of course, assuming he'll even hold to his end of the bargain in the first place...]

Would a purple Santa hat be better?

[Sasuke is enjoying this too much.]

Well then you wait here, and I'll get you one.

[He turns to leave but then stops and turns right back around.]

Oh and if you're not here when I come back, I'll have no problem going around telling everyone about how you were too much of a coward to carry through with his end of the bet... that he was too scared to wear a Santa hat and be nice for a day.

Nah, stick with traditional red. Just makes it more vexing for him.

[WAIT however could you have guessed that Asakura was planning on getting the heck out of there? His next words come out in a growl.]

Oh, I'll be here.

[While Sasuke is gone, Asakura's going to be scouring every inch of that area in an attempt to find a suitable reflective surface to let his giant snake out to play. He'll fail, get ticked off, and attack a wall until he falls over onto his back. He may or may not be sleeping when Sasuke returns.]
