[After a long trek through the snowy field, a row of fancy heat lamps and a stone gate finally come into view. Through it, the town of Lutie is visible, and looking quite welcoming with its Christmas greetings everywhere. Compared to the frozen tundra, you'll want to hurry inside - just try not to let the wall hit you on the way in! And once the gate is passed, the first thing you'll see is a massive Christmas Tree.... ]

[Guess who's NOT doing anything Reaper related today? This Hollow. It's too cold and he's rebelling.

This is like an RPG... geez, why is everything so expensive?

Maybe it actually is. Your world isn't where I was from, so who's saying we aren't in another world like what you're suggesting?

[Thankfully, he's found that the RGers here are really, really interested in the Pin he'd offered - one he couldn't use from his days as a Player. It's something they'd never seen before, so he could name his own prices.]

Maybe it is! It sure looks like one... one inundated in traditional Western Christmas... I'm hoping to find a katana I can afford. [he sighs, then looks over at Grovyle] Man, aren't you cold? [because Ichigo is dressed to the nines.]

Maybe a little. [He WAS out next to Kreutzer at the key wall.]

But then I think about what life was like back when I was living, and it's not so bad. I'd rather a breeze that chills you to the bone than years of stagnant, unmoving air.

But what about your uh.... [he gestures to the leaves on Grovyle's arms] Leaves? Won't they get frostbitten?

...And if they do? It's not like I'm going to wither and die in a cold snap; I think that ship has already sailed.

Well, you could wither and.... Erase? Autoerase? ... I don't even know if that's a thing. Look, I have some extra clothes if you get cold. I managed to drag a little suitcase with me from Romania.

[Neku doesn't play a lot of video games, but he knows enough. He came in to look for a hat or something because fuck this weather.]

Are there any normal clothes anywhere?

Kind of like an MMORPG. I don't really like those, myself. But I'm hoping to find a sword... that I can afford.

[he frowns] It doesn't look like it... I bought a little suitcase for my clothes and luckily it came with me. I have a hat you can borrow.

Maybe they're cheaper somewhere else?

You know... I don't think there is anywhere else. I think this is an island.

[he picks up a little bit of plate armor and hisses at the price] Geez!! What is with these prices?!

[Neku looks over and visibly winces.] That's crazy. I would say fight Noise for more pins, but... [reapers.]

[he frowns again] I have some pins left over... from prizes and stuff that never got given out. Do you think we could sell those? I mean, I have to eat Noise anyway, they drop pins sometimes when I do that. And if this IS an RPG... [he looks out past the edge of town into the forest] ... There should be monsters out there that will drop stuff. Stuff we can sell.

[...Huh. He hadn't thought of that.] That could work... if there are monsters. But it can't hurt to try and find out.

Judging by the monsters just outside of town and the array of weapons and armor shops in what appears to be a quaint little northern town, an RPG might not be all that far off.

[Hey Ichigo, look who is also shirking his duties and scanning over the available armor! It's the same as shopping in Shibuya, except more... LARP-esque.]

So there ARE monsters outside of town. I hadn't checked yet. [he gives Josh a little grin. Seems like everyone wants to play hooky today. Not like there's not enough Reapers out and about to cover the job just fine, anyway] I'm hoping to get a sword, but man... my money's not gonna go very far. So I guess... if this is an RPG, what I should do to get money is kill monsters, right?

Little slime balls, yes. [He's clearly amused. He's also going more for the mage gear here.] That's typically what they do in RPGs, from what I gather! I don't see much point in leveling up, but grinding for money or items is also commonplace.

Just little slime balls? Ugh. How boring. [he frowns] Well we don't even... have levels. Do we? Whatever. I do need money. Even the cheapest katana is out of my price range. [he takes out one of his extra pins] Do you think they'll buy these?

From what I've seen. There could be bigger, nastier things out there~ [A smile, and he picks up one of the staves. ... ouch, Ichigo wasn't joking about the price.] I doubt we have levels, but hopefully we can make use of these regardless. It helps the atmosphere of it all. [Setting that staff down and glancing over!] I can't see why they would want anything to do with our pins. It seems like farming up money on our own is the best option.

Good. My knowledge of RPGs isn't... that great.... but "little slimes" sounds like weak little monsters who don't drop anything. I could probably step on them and they'd die. [he sighs] I was afraid of that. And the money pins I do have are so devalued!

[leggierissimo]

I don't know... I wouldn't underestimate something just because it looks so weak. [He picks up a set of robes, feeling of the material.] I suppose we'll just have to find some way of making money here, then, hm?

[tamedhollow]

Well, the only way I know how to make money in RPGs is to.... battle enemies and sell the loot, or run errands. [a group of warriors runs past, in the general direction of the Candy Factory] ... Where are they off to in such a hurry?

[leggierissimo]

[... hm! Curious indeed. He leans back from the stand, watching the warriors run off with obvious interest.] ... good question. It looks like there's action going on somewhere.
