WEEK 3 DAY 6: MISSION

Mission: Defeat the Knight of Storms.
Time Limit: Medium
Noise Plane: Solo
Wall Instructions: Key wall at entrance of Toy Factory. Key walls may be placed inside Toy Factory at your own risk. Reapers will not be penalized for assisting players in battle instead of harrying or placing walls.
Wall Rewards: Straitjacket
Reaped Rewards: Izanami
Mission Rewards: Ice Risers


[After several days of mission silence, there's a mail on everyone's phone. At the same time, there's quite a bit of bustle in town amongst the adventurers: apparently, there's word that there's a new demon lurking in the depths of the Toy Factory, possibly the creature behind the unruly mobs that roam the factory floor! As of such, there's a lot of RGers swarming into the dungeon past the walls.

Clearly this fiend is the creature mentioned in the mission mail, but... will it count if a RGer strikes the killing blow? Better not be lazy!]

[[OOC note: If it wasn't obvious, the NPC RGers are perfectly capable on their own... but due to a player plot (which may or may not be backtagged/handwaved due to Real Life Circumstances) they are likely to be significantly little help to your cause. Might be best to band together on your own here!]]

He'll go wait by the Toy Factory's entrance. Hopefully the others show up and they can make a team effort.]

Xion is on the hunt for this Knight of storms. Mostly because it sounds sort of fun, and reminds her of the good old days in the Org. Also because she kind of wants to test her skills.

So here she is, looking for this jerk face who always froze me]

[Ryoji spots her just as she's about to enter the Toy Factory. She looks like she's on a quest!]

Xion-chan? Are you here for the mission too?

[THAT SHE IS!]

Oh? There's a mission? I just thought it'd be fun trying to take down this 'Knight of Storms'. I've gotten kinda lazy, so I need a good work out!

[This week's GM seems to be incredibly lax on the wall instructions; maybe because there's no good places for them, or maybe he expected more aggressive harriers or for players to suicide themselves on the creatures in the Toy Factory.

He just didn't understand it. But here Grovyle was, working on the single required wall; he doesn't look all that cold, given the cloak, though he seems more than a little anxious about something.]

[The Flutters found it weird that they weren't given missions for two days only to get a mission today. It mentioned the Toy Factory, so Cruelly's going to do some investigating. She spots some green... lizard thing and flutters over to it.]

[Oh, hey, that pony that Kreutzer had been hanging with.]

Wall duty. Thinking about what other people have said to me.

[Worried about Kreutzer. All he knows is that she went in there alone before the mission mail hit...]

[Anxious or not, Rin's pretty sure that there's a fight in that factory. She's not sure she's even close to being strong enough to take it, but after two days of nothing everyone's restless.

Of course, she didn't expect a Pokemon to be guarding the entrance. Cute talking ponies are one thing, but she's only met the trainer-and-ball kind in Mayfield, so she is confused on how this even works.]

Uh. ♪

[She glances around. M-Maybe there's another Reaper around here? But he has the wings... oh what the hell, she'll try talking to him. There must be some reason.]

Hey there! How do I get past here? ♪

[Surprise! This one speaks English! Or... Japanese. Or whatever this Game's Official Language actually is. He speaks it, is the point.]

Prove to me you can handle yourself down there. Either come back with a weapon, or take out some Noise where I can see you. Doesn't much matter which way you go.

[Asakura wants a little change of pace from using Noise to harry Players, but he's also got zero interest in working together with them.

So he's trying a different approach. Drawing aggro is about as simple as breathing for a guy like him...now, all he's got to do is lead whatever mob he's ticked off to a Player or two.]

[Go on, send some aggro at the little girl. You jerk.]

(The town was certainly busy this day with both rumor activity. To the NPC RGers, the rumors mention both a demon in the Toy Factory and an angel amongst them. The rumors come with an explicit warning that anyone who locates and does battle with the angel should be both very high level and equipped with the best gear available; it's a difficult battle meant only for the strongest of adventurers and under no circumstances should an adventurer try to battle her one on one.

So naturally, they all want to see just how strong this angel is. Could be to test themselves, could be a death wish...could be both, really.

However, the angel was very much unaware of these rumors and the so-called "event" surrounding her, so she went to the toy factory herself to investigate. Once an adventurer tried to run a blade through her throat, he was promptly blasted to the other side of the room. Unfortunately for the angel, that served to only reveal herself to every adventurer in the toy factory.

And that's where Kreutzer is. Even if she could shift to the UG as refuge, the factory was decal'd; there was no escape and they were all after her head. If she wanted to live (so to speak), she had to fight. Fortunately, Kreutzer's magic makes her a very dangerous opponent, especially to those who aren't familiar with battling in shmup/danmaku/bullet hell fashion. Never before did she actually have to resort to more than her dolls, but now that her life is on the line because of a few bloodthirsty and idiotic RGers? All bets are off.

So in case anyone happens to find her (as in follow the huge commotion that isn't along the path to the Knight of Storms), they'll see Kreutzer with several pairs of glowing photonic wings on her back, ferociously raining bullet hell on the adventurers before touching down to the ground to catch her breath. She's very worn out and injured from the battle and with this setting's rules on mana, her supply is getting low. Even she isn't sure how long she can last; all she knows is the more time she gives herself to rest, the more time they have to do the same. There's fire in the stubborn girl's eyes and they want to see every adventurer in town reduced to ashes...)

((OOC: So yeah, this is the aforementioned player plot. The RGers are convinced Kreutzer is a rare mob boss and are treating her accordingly. They're all in the Toy Factory, but purposely placed out of the way so anyone who doesn't want to get involved doesn't have to. Those who do want to get involved are free to ask Kreutzer what's going on, help battle the adventurers or drag her away from them. Anything goes!

Also as a fair warning: since I have no internet of my own and the only ones available in the building are very unreliable, tags will be very sporadic, if they happen at all. I won't have any connection of my own until February, but if you don't mind backtagging/slow as fuck responses from me, then I'll gladly continue threads, but yeah this is just a heads up to that.))

[Ryoji had been wandering the Toy Factory anyways, due to the mission mail. He was keeping an eye out for Players in danger, and trying to keep the RGers out of trouble and away from the big boss.

And what does he spot along the way? A bunch of RGers in trouble! And... a really angry Reaper. Ryoji had seen her around before, but hadn't really spoken to her. She had seemed a little dangerous, and he thought it was best to keep his distance.

And he'd been right, hadn't he? She was dangerous!

...But she also looked to be in a lot of trouble herself. And well, Ryoji didn't want either side to get hurt...

So of course he does the right idiotic thing to do: go Thanatos and jump right between the RGers and the Reaper, trying to both stop Kreutzer from firing and shield her from harm.]

[After talking to a green talking lizard, The Flutters scour the Toy Factory for Kreutzer. They turn up nothing for a while until the finally find her. ...Getting attacked. Fluttershy lets out a gasp.]

[Finally a mission! It's about time. Sasuke's on the look out for his partner. A knife's at his belt (for lack of anywhere else to put it), and he's sporting the red headband he got.]

[Here's a zebra, in a new red cloak and looking reasonably confident, though she's frowning thoughtfully.]

The enemies have strength to fear.
Two of us alone may not serve here.

[Ichigo is milling around outside the factory, frowning a little]

Knight of Storms... we didn't run into anything like that yesterday. I wonder if it's up on the second floor.

Maybe. Are there more than two? [He hopes not... getting through the one was hard enough.]

[Welp, it seems this was what the past few days were building up to.

Minato is standing by, focusing his Eyes Full of Hope at the monster from a distance.]

[Sadly, it's a bit of a standstill - Minato is far enough away that the huge ice creature can't spot him, but at the same time... well, Eyes Full of Hope isn't exactly known for its overwhelming power, so Minato's attempts to even cause the slightest dent in the creature aren't amounting to too much. Looks like they really want the players to band together for this mission...]

[It might take some work to get up to the second level of the Toy Factory, and once you're up there, it's certainly not a safe place to be. Between the toy soldiers apparently armed with live ammunition and the sentient gift boxes, one has to keep their wits about them at all times.

But that's where the creature lurks - standing at least as tall as two men without the reindeer antlers, seeming to be hewn out of solid ice, the Windstorm Knight patrols his 'realm', flanked by a small platoon of incredibly festive goblins. If you want to take this behemoth down, you'd best have a team or a lot of potions.

Preferably, both.]
