Noise Plane: Duet
Wall Instructions: Key walls around the Naganaki Shrine. Condition must be a Pact. Seal off the dorm and school.
Wall Rewards: Chaos
Reaped Rewards: One Stroke, Vast Wealth
Mission Rewards: 1000 yen

[It's a slightly different mission than the standard "go here" you get on the first day, although that's still basically what it amounts to. There's a shrine not far from the train station, and it has a Donation Box ...

However, the task is more difficult than what may have been anticipated by veterans of the game, for as soon as the mission mail appears and the timer appears on the Players' hands, the stray noise in the area begin to attack any Players without a pact... better hope you're not alone.]

This is a Dual week. You were foolish to run. Forming a Pact with another Player might have saved you.

(A Dual Week...dammit. How did she miss that? The one time a pact is absolutely necessary to even fight is when Kreutzer ends up in the game. What a cruel joke.)

...A poor judgment call. Not my first, if I'm to be honest.

(Yeah she's putting up a front, but she doesn't have any thing else to go on. Her only choice is to run. Though it'll mean tallying up a loss, she could at least survive that much longer if she succeeded. But that's a big if; a Reaper capable of casual telepathy could mean further psychic capabilities. Kreutzer begins backing away...)

[And Kreutzer might feel a hand on her shoulder, squeezing lightly in reassurance.

Xion can't fight alone either, having no pact herself, but hopefully the other girl will figure out she's friendly, and trying to help. She shifts her focus to the mink, hand tightening around the pin in her other hand and focusing to activate it.]

(At first, Kreutzer tensed up once she felt a hand on her shoulder and instinctively looked over; her discolored eyes revealed nothing to her, but somehow...something told Kreutzer that she wasn't an enemy. Another Player, perhaps? Someone else who not only needed a pact, but someone to count on.

Kreutzer sighed and closed her eyes, trying to calm herself down. A pact...she-no, they needed this pact. They needed an ally...a friend. As she tried to resonate with Xion, a very familiar voice played in Kreutzer's mind...

"You can't see the world without first looking. Just.... look.... This isn't just a picture. This is what life is."

Her Player pin called to her. As she rested her hand on it, she felt some form of pulse emanating from herself. Something so simple, yet so complicated she couldn't even begin to describe it. Whatever it was, it felt as though the world around her suddenly became clear; while she couldn't see it for what it was, she could feel it. Herself, the girl by her side...the Mink.

With her other hand, Kreutzer firmly held her Eyes Full of Hope and, as if at the same time with Xion, focused herself into that pin, focused on activating its potential and, most importantly, focus it on that which opposed her.)

[For an instant, Mewtwo gathered his power to simply shut down everything, furious at having been denied. But he didn't, simply because he had to play by the rules to prove his superiority.]

[He did, however, catch enough to mentally sneer.]

'Ally' was the word you wanted. Not 'friend'. Your Pact is pure convenience.

[Xion feels the similar tug, and the words mewtwo was saying was enough to make her frown. She didn't know if he could read minds, but if he could, she was thinking loud and clear:]

(Even allies can become friends.)

[She focuses harder on the pin, calling down the light to attack the mink.]

Convenience or not, a pact is a pact. I trust you know full well what that means...

(Namely "you're not erasing me that easily." However, this also meant her pin would finally take effect and the mink was not only the target of Xion's attack, but Kreutzer's as well.)

[Truth be told, Mewtwo had written the mink off as lost the moment they formed their Pact. An ex-Reaper, even a blind one, would not fall so easily. Even as the Mink falls, a Pin begrudgingly lifts into the air, then flips in their direction.]

And next week, you are accepted as a Reaper again, and this one will be your target. A person who forges such an easy 'friendship' was never worthy of being a Reaper in the first place.
