WEEK 5, DAY 1: MISSION

Mission: Get with the Times.
Time Limit: Short
Noise Plane: Solo
Wall Instructions: Key walls around the Times Square. Keywalls must be cleared by presence of a pact, or by fighting noise.
Wall Rewards: Blown Kiss
Reaped Rewards: Frantic
Mission Rewards: Rare Metal

[It looks like things are back to normal, but that seems to only raise as many questions as it solves. What happened to Tatsumi Port? Why did the phones all go dead like that? And why did nobody see the GM the entire last week...?

But it's no matter. It's the start of another week of the Reaper's Game - and the mission seems the same as ever for Day 1. Now just to figure out where the mission is pointing to.]

[The snake seems a bit frustrated at the total lack of reaction, almost as though if it could talk it would be screaming "HEY LOOK AT ME I AM A TOTALLY TERRIFYING GIANT SNAKE OF DOOM OKAY REACT ALREADY GEEZ."

Asakura's had enough, and he'll jump out from the windshield of a parked car, finally showing himself.]

I thought I'd seen the last of you.

[He doesn't sound too happy with Ryoji, nor does he seem worried about the sparks.]

You don't want to fight properly? How vexing...

[Ryoji turns to face Asakura, though he doesn't glare as he usually would. He just stares blankly, which may be more unsettling.]

I thought I would be gone as well, but I was taken from that world with the rest of you after all.

[He doesn't sound happy with Asakura, but he's definitely not upset.]

I don't see any reason to fight you unless you want to start something.

[vexed_snake]

[The lack of a reaction is rather vexing. Asakura wastes no time in closing the distance between them and getting right up in Ryoji's face. Venosnaker is just watching with something of a "Yeah, you show him, boss!" air.]

You don't want to get past my wall?

Because I guarantee there's going to be fighting if you do...you're lucky you're a Player now.

[Not being able to attack Ryoji directly is also vexing.]

[And still Ryoji does not react. He doesn't even blink or back away, standing firmly in one spot, though not from stubbornness or anger. He just doesn't have anywhere else to go.]

I guess if I'm a Player, I need to finish the missions, so then I'll fight whatever you throw at me.

[vexed_snake]

[Even though Asakura's still wearing his armor, the sneer is evident in his voice. Why isn't he getting a reaction? He likes those reactions. He likes knowing he's vexing Ryoji just as much as Ryoji vexes him.]

All right, then.

[He activates a pin. It's Rhinoceros Noise...but it's probably going to bring a buddy along soon enough. The Noise charges at Ryoji.]

[Well, he's not vexing Ryoji at all this time around. He doesn't flinch away from the attack, about as concerned about the Noise as the monster he turned into last week would be. It's a good thing that pin of his is activated, so the electricity shocks the rhino before it can get at Ryoji.]

[Though the Rhino is the only Noise in the area, it's not the only rhinoceros in the area. Metalgelas lunges out from a nearby window and charges at Ryoji. Will the pin be enough for both monsters?]

[Ryoji does manage to hold both of them off with the pin, but it's clear that he won't be able to keep it up for long. His body tenses, ready to transform once the aura fades.]

[vexed_snake]

[The Rhinoceros Noise isn't quite up to the task of carrying on, and it's defeated successfully.]

Oh, it looks like you've won...

[Asakura's tone is light and somewhat careless as the wall vanishes.]

...if you can get past my pets.

[Well, at least Ryoji's got an escape route if he needs it. Metalgelas is still recklessly charging at him, and Venosnaker's still sitting there in front of where the wall was.]

[Ryoji notes the exit, and would rather get through that way then continue the fight. Still, if Asakura's monsters are in the way, he has no choice. He transforms into Thanatos, and pushes Metalgelas back with the blunt end of his blade, roaring.

Strange. Thanatos still seems to have that chaotic rage inside him, despite his human form's apathy.]

Now this is where things get interesting...

[Metalgelas is successfully pushed back, but Thanatos still has Venosnaker to deal with. The snake's starting to spit acid.

If Asakura weren't in his armor, he'd probably be sitting there with his popcorn again.]

[Acid hurts, more so now that Ryoji is a Player and no longer immortal. Thankfully, he sustains some burns, but not much else, and he growls as he rushes the snake, ready to pin it down with his sword.]

[vexed_snake]

[Venosnaker rears back and flares his hood, giving off an angry hiss as he tries to dodge that sword. Ryoji's sword will catch its tail, but he should watch out--Venosnaker can still move around some.]
