WEEK 5, DAY 1: MISSION

Mission: Get with the Times.
Time Limit: Short
Noise Plane: Solo
Wall Instructions: Key walls around the Times Square. Keywalls must be cleared by presence of a pact, or by fighting noise.
Wall Rewards: Blown Kiss
Reaped Rewards: Frantic
Mission Rewards: Rare Metal

[It looks like things are back to normal, but that seems to only raise as many questions as it solves. What happened to Tatsumi Port? Why did the phones all go dead like that? And why did nobody see the GM the entire last week...?

But it's no matter. It's the start of another week of the Reaper's Game - and the mission seems the same as ever for Day 1. Now just to figure out where the mission is pointing to.]

[Grovyle is quiet, just watching the players - new and old - mill around the city streets. When he does finally speak up, it's in a low tone, his own cloak held around himself despite the warmer weather.]

New problems don't replace the old, just stack on. We're not surpassing sitting through a literal armageddon, we're adding to it.

And a new week can introduce plenty of problems...more than I'm willing to tolerate.

It's been a month since this game began and the only thing that's certain is the accumulation of problems. If things can get this bad and continue as it has, then I can't imagine how it'll act once the buildup overflows...

...I don't like this, Grovyle. I don't like this at all.

The question I keep coming back to is 'why'... nothing in this Game makes sense. Not like it was explained. If people stopped doing their jobs, would there really be any consequences? It seems the only punishments that have been doled out have been from action, not inaction. I'm not really sure even the very first week counts.

The first week was as much of a learning experience for them as it was for us, an experience that arguably worked better for them. I remain convinced they receive some form of profit from continuing this game, profits which are maximized by minimizing costs, including maintenance. It's unreasonably sturdy for a house of cards: it's full of so many holes and held together by laughably flimsy material, yet it still stands.
