WEEK 5, DAY 1: MISSION
Mission: Get with the Times.
Time Limit: Short
Noise Plane: Solo
Wall Instructions: Key walls around the Times Square. Keywalls must be cleared by presence of a pact, or by fighting noise.
Wall Rewards: Blown Kiss
Reaped Rewards: Frantic
Mission Rewards: Rare Metal
[It looks like things are back to normal, but that seems to only raise as many questions as it solves. What happened to Tatsumi Port? Why did the phones all go dead like that? And why did nobody see the GM the entire last week...?
But it's no matter. It's the start of another week of the Reaper's Game - and the mission seems the same as ever for Day 1. Now just to figure out where the mission is pointing to.]

Her reaper wings fluttered on their own accord as her cloak was wrapped around her, adorned with the pins that kept her alive during her previous week. She held her bow with her free hand as she casually and, almost cautiously, flew over the city streets. As vigilant as this may make her look, she was half doing her job and half enjoying the gift of vision.)

...
...She decides not to question it. Instead, she touches down and approaches the boy.)
...Ryoji...you made it...
no subject
I did. I guess I was pulled out of that world with the rest of you after all. I'm not sure if it happened before the Fall or not, though.
You seem to have made it out as well. Did I hurt you?
no subject
(She tugs on her cloak.)
Either way, the Game made sure to bring along everyone who's a part of it...I just didn't expect it could overrule doomsday.
...How are you feeling?
no subject
...I'm alright. I feel a bit strange, but I'm guessing that's because I'm a Player.
[They took something from him as an entry fee, right? He's just too numb to figure out what. Give him a minute, he'll figure it out.]
no subject
(It could be some entry fee, but it could also be recovering from...well, from Nyx.)
Entry fees always feel as though you're missing something and oftentimes, you're forbidden from remembering it. Is that what you're feeling?
no subject
[Though that would also support Kreutzer's other theory, considering how apathetic Nyx had been.]
no subject
That can make this week more or less difficult for you, depending on how you look at it.
...Perhaps they'll be returned to you by next week.
no subject
I hope they will be.
no subject
They may take away your legs, but they can't take away the will to walk on.
no subject
[And to prove it, he smiles! ...Shame it doesn't seem to have the proper look to it. Ryoji's smile was usually so much more enthusiastic than this.]
no subject
...I survived thanks to my own efforts and the efforts of others. I wouldn't be standing here if I didn't have both.
Speaking of which, have you found yourself a partner?

...and he's spotted a Reaper flying along up there. The Professor's not quite sure what he wants to do here, so he'll try to avoid notice as much as possible while keeping an eye on her. He has the stealth skills of a college professor in his late middle age, so...yeah, he probably sticks out like a sore thumb somehow.]

Unfortunately, this makes you a rather easy target for Kreutz. Fortunately, she's not quite jumping at the opportunity to score some points. Even as she approaches, it's not with the look of a predator; just of a girl looking for conversation.)
...Are you looking for something in particular?
no subject
Not really, no. Just keeping an eye out for trouble, that's all.
[Hey, at least he's honest.]
no subject
Unfortunately, trouble has predatory senses. It can strike when you least expect it.
(She doesn't mean that to be menacing; it's more out of warning.)
no subject
[Yeah, he looks like such a troublemaker. Like the worst he's gotten into is losing a library book or something.]
no subject
(Yeah, Kreutz can't judge him for that. After all, she looks like she belongs in high school...I mean come on, she's wearing a hair bow. Who wears hair bows anymore?)
Unfortunately, it doesn't get any easier as you progress. Typical. All that can be done is dusting yourself off from the previous and brace yourself for what may come next.
no subject
And hey, he was half of a high school aged superhero. He's not judging anyone by their age, that's for sure.]
It's no different than things were when I was alive.
[...even that whole "and then the world almost ended" thing that they had going last week wasn't different. That happened with depressing regularity back home.]
Getting a chance to go back is worth fighting for.
no subject
Going back isn't quite as easy as they made it out to be. It's why people from a month ago, people from when the game started, are still here. There's quite the mystery surrounding that; everyone's coming up with their own theories, but tragically, there's nothing sturdy to stand on.
no subject
Perhaps it's for the best that I'm here, then. Gives me a chance to see if I can't get to the bottom of this affair.
[Not that he knows how he's going to do that. But he will try.]
no subject
Rest assured that you won't be the only one. Even several of the reapers are looking into the matter and frankly, we need all the help we can get.
...Unfortunately, we have to play their game all the while, lest anyone wishes to face consequences.
no subject
What sort of consequences?
no subject
We aren't just fighting for the chance to come back to life or to discover the truth of this Game; we're fighting for our very existences.
