WEEK 3 DAY 3: MISSION

Mission: Spread holiday cheer to the town!
Time Limit: Long
Noise Plane: Solo
Wall Instructions: Neku, the Flutters, and Kreutzer are explicitly assigned to wall duty, other reapers may man key walls around town as desired. Wall-clearing requirements must involve cheering the reaper in question up somehow.
Wall Rewards: Whirlygig Juggle
Reaped Rewards: Aqua Ghost
Mission Rewards: Adamantite
Bonus Reward: Love Me Tether

[It seems this week's GM is pretty easy-going, as this is another simple mission... it seems that spirits are still somewhat down amidst the RG, to say nothing of the Reapers. Obviously, one or more of them need to be happy to clear the mission. But which ones?

Strangely, all phones will get a second mail a few minutes after the first, though it's a little different than the mission mail... it actually seems to be in a somewhat stylized script, and reads quite differently.]

While those in this Game are carrying out your mission, there is one grinch who seems to be quite intent on befouling the name of this town and perhaps all of Christmas! Perhaps if you could find it in your heart to spread a little Christmas cheer to that snakey soul, Santa might have an extra present for you!

[Well... ok then. Neku was supposed to be on wall duty, but it didn't matter where. And unfortunately, he sort of got the point after the mission. This was going to be fun...]

[Any players that scan near the town square might actually be able to hear a snowman. Sure, why not - after all, is it really any weirder than Santa being real?

...he seems bummed and existential, though, and Noise is swarming around him like you wouldn't believe.

Any RGers might be able to strike up conversation with the snowman, too - though he'll likely start out by saying the exact same thing.]

[Rin thought she heard a voice in that swarm of noise. Wait... jeez they're eating the snowman?? Confused, she grips her pins tighter.]

Hey! Get away from there! ♪

[Hailing the noise seems to pull a couple over. Time to figure out Velocity Attack! ... Luckily the name on the pin literally being "Velocity Attack" makes it pretty easy. She's knocking into enemies soon enough.]

[Look! It's Spreading Christmas Cheer Ultimate Hard Mode! He's cruising around the playing field, looking for someone to troll attack harry. The idea behind this entire mission is rather vexing, and that second message has done nothing but make him more irritated with things than usual.

Playing harrier is his thing, so at least he's not running a wall somewhere and you're spared doing whatever he might decide would make him happy.]

[Well this is perfect, there's a new girl running around the place with no idea what to do about this place. Don't mind her walking around and being all confused!]

Ryoji just glares as he wanders past in the opposite direction, trying to control himself. He's busy looking for Santa, he doesn't have time for a fight...

Maybe he has time to fling a snowball right in Asakura's ugly face, though. Just maybe.]

(This...this is kind of embarrassing. Kreutzer was just fine with wall duty, but cheering her up? That's where things get weird. Oh well; not like she couldn't use a little cheer, anyway...)

[And while Kreutzer is stuck on wall duty? There's a snowball dropping from above, aimed right at the top of her head.]

"Snakey soul" ... If this involves who I think it is, then you can count me out. I really don't feel like being Erased today.

[Note to self: stay away from reflective surfaces. Of course with his luck, it means that he probably will cross paths with him, if he was part of the mission or not.]

[Good news! Asakura's been having a hard time finding suitable reflective surfaces out in this place. The cold's been making what few windows are in the area frost over to the point they're unusable for him.

But there's still the bad news of Asakura still being Asakura and in an even fouler mood than usual thanks to that second message regarding the mission...and he's spotted Sasuke. The way he's grinning can't be good.]

[The Flutters might definitely need some cheering up. Between not being able to find Kreutzer's dog and not being able to get a sword, they might need it. Fluttercruel's manning the wall, and she's going to try to make cheering them up difficult.]

[With this particular mission, Joshua isn't all that concerned with harrying Players. He's on harrying duty, yes, but that just means he's not tied to a wall. And it means he can watch these attempts at "spreading Christmas cheer".

For now, he's roaming the playing area and looking for anything interesting, half-eaten peppermint stick in hand. It isn't popcorn or sunflower seeds or anything like that, but it will do.]

[Spreading cheer, huh? Definitely a more pleasant mission than hunting men in coats. He could totally get behind this.

...Well, it WOULD be. See, Leon's been trying to expand his slacking repertoire by utilizing Sexy D to some more heavy work! ...Problem is, when you don't necessarily have much brain power to begin with, you kinda suck at lifting more than a few pounds.

[Hello, slacking buddy! Demyx was looking around for a place to buy an instrument since his baby is missing- the problem with having a sitar summoned through hyperspace or whatever is when you lost that, you lost the sitar. But watching this is more fun! Even if he doesn't entiiiiirely know what's happening here.]

[Awesome. So, Demyx's first day in not-dead-but-dead-and-super-confusingness land, and there was this mission. Thing. He was used to missions! Not so used to doing them. But, hey, familiar consequences. If he didn't do them, risk of death. Only this time it's by these Reapers instead of X-face or the boss.

But, hey, it's his first day! He can slack off, right? So Demyx just stretches his arms up, opting to looking around the city. It's like recon! Sort of!]

[while he's lazing around, a yellow blur races past him.

Then it stops short and stumbles a little. Apparently the blur was a girl. She looks over her shoulder]

Ahh, is it gone? ♪

And after noting the lack of Noise, she's spotted Demyx. When their eyes meet, she grins and waves a little. And hopes that she's not just imagining the eye contact. That's happened before, and it makes her feel really stupid.]

[At least they're not being forced into sing Christmas carols for hours this time. So Minato can actually sing what he wants, which is this. Hey, it should cheer someone up.]

[Please excuse Ryoji's snort as he desperately tries to hold in laughter.]

[Ryoji, surpisingly, is not manning a Wall. He's wandering around, a determined look on his face. Even more surprising is the fact that he's... well, Harrying, if you can call it that. He is sending out Noise, but fairly weak ones, sending more in if the Players handle that well, almost like he's letting them fight at their own level. Well, Santa said challenges were good...

Speaking of, where is Santa? That's the other reason Ryoji's wandering around. He was promised another conversation with the jolly man once his duties were done, and he's hopeful he'll spot him today, when he's not as busy. Ryoji had told himself his friends needed presents, and Santa clearly had those. All Ryoji wanted to do was be allowed to give them out, so that he could maybe spread some cheer of his own.]
